J.M.E. Pool

There is a sense of gentle vulnerability that flows intrinsically throughout the work of the artist Jean-Maree Pool. Her sometimes unsettling imagery evolves from a place that is neither adult nor childlike, where creatures of the night creep menacingly from the woods to threaten the viewers own subconscious memories.

Having recently completed the Master of Contemporary Art (UTAS), JME Pool’s works have been making their way into private collections both locally and overseas over a number of years.  This has been boosted by her recent inclusion in the art book "The Garden of Eye Candy", published by Ginko Press (Asia region) and Page One (USA).In 2009, JME Pool’s work, “Once Upon a Midnight Dreary” was acquired by Bundaberg Regional Art gallery through their Acquisitions program.
